A domed silver face with a budded cross picked out in purple — amethyst-colored CZ stones flush-set into the curve so nothing protrudes above the mirror-polished surface. The Amethyst Cross Signet Ring is .925 sterling silver at 17 grams with an 18×22mm face. The cross has trefoil ends — a Cross Bottony, the heraldic form representing the Holy Trinity. Faith in purple and silver, under a polished dome you can practically see your reflection in.

Best Suited For

If you want a faith ring that works in professional settings — The budded cross reads subtle. People see the purple and the polished dome before they identify the cross shape. It fits under a French cuff at church and over a steering wheel on Monday without feeling out of place in either context.

If you collect signet rings and want one with color — Most signets are all silver or all gold. This one breaks the monochrome with purple CZ stones that catch light differently than the surrounding silver. It adds a personality that plain signets lack while keeping the signet form factor.

If you're buying a meaningful gift for a man of faith — Confirmation, ordination, anniversary — this ring says something specific without shouting. The Cross Bottony has deep Christian heraldic roots. The .925 hallmark inside guarantees the recipient knows it's real silver.

What Wearing It Actually Feels Like

The domed face follows the natural curve of your finger — it's convex, not flat. That curvature gives the ring a comfortable, organic feel compared to boxy flat-top signets. The mirror polish catches overhead light and throws it back as a single bright flash. Under warm lighting, the purple stones glow against the silver.

The CZ stones are set into a recessed channel that forms the cross shape. Run a thumb across the face and you feel a subtle groove where the stones sit — the slight texture change between smooth silver and stone facets. But nothing catches. Gloves, pockets, fabrics — all clear.

At 17 grams on an 18×22mm face, this is a mid-weight signet. The domed profile makes it feel slightly lighter than it is because the weight distributes across the curve rather than sitting flat. The band tapers smoothly from the dome — no sharp transition between face and shank.

What People Want to Know

Q: What is a budded cross (Cross Bottony)?

A budded cross has three rounded lobes (trefoils) at the end of each arm — representing the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It's a traditional form used in Christian heraldry and ecclesiastical vestments for centuries. Softer and more ornate than a plain Latin cross.

Q: Will the purple CZ stones fade with wear?

No — CZ doesn't fade from UV exposure or skin contact. The color is consistent throughout the stone, not a surface coating. After months of daily wear, the stones look the same. The silver around them may develop a slight patina, which actually makes the purple stand out more.

Q: How do I maintain the mirror polish?

A soft polishing cloth restores the mirror shine in seconds. Sterling silver naturally oxidizes when exposed to air — that's normal. Store the ring in a pouch when not wearing it to slow the process. Some owners prefer the slightly aged look — the tarnish darkens the cross outline and adds contrast.
