Three different leathers make up the skull on this wallet. The face and jaw are cobra skin — real cobra, with that natural cream-and-brown scale pattern still intact. The eye sockets and nasal cavity are black stingray, each bead catching light differently from the surrounding scales. And the border framing everything is hand-tooled black cowhide with Western floral scrollwork. A hand-braided leather edge runs the perimeter, a .925 sterling silver concho holds the closure strap, and a matching silver grommet sits at the corner for a chain.

Built For

If you collect exotic leather — Cobra, stingray, and cowhide in one piece. Each leather ages differently — the cobra scales develop a slight sheen from handling, the stingray stays matte and rigid, and the cowhide border softens. After six months, the three textures are even more distinct than day one.

If you ride — Ten card slots, three bill compartments, and a zippered pocket inside. The .925 silver grommet takes any standard wallet chain clip. At 4" Ɨ 8" closed, it fits a back pocket or jacket. The cobra skin sits flush against the surface — no raised edges to snag fabric.

If you want something nobody else carries — Triple-leather wallets are rare even in the handmade market. Most use one or two skins at most. The cobra-stingray-cowhide combination here isn't just for looks — each leather handles a different job. Cobra gives the skull its texture. Stingray adds the dark voids. Cowhide holds the tooling.

The Honest Take

The cobra skin has a natural pattern — cream, tan, and brown markings that are unique to each hide. That means no two skulls look exactly the same. The scale placement shifts slightly between wallets. If you need perfectly symmetrical markings, that's not how real cobra works.

The three leathers have different textures, and you can feel the transitions when your thumb runs across the front. The cobra is smooth and slightly glossy. The stingray is pebbly and hard. The tooled cowhide border is matte and has carved ridges. It's a tactile wallet — people notice it when they pick it up.

Break-in follows the cowhide, not the exotics. The tooled border and fold area soften over two weeks. The cobra and stingray stay exactly as they are. The whole wallet keeps its shape well because the stingray panels act like structural reinforcement.

Before You Buy

Q: What are the three different leathers in this wallet?

The body and border are genuine cowhide — dyed black and hand-tooled with floral scrollwork. The skull itself is genuine cobra skin with its natural cream-and-brown scale pattern. The eye sockets and nasal cavity are filled with genuine black stingray leather — those tiny beads are calcified denticles.

Q: Will the cobra skin scales peel or lift over time?

Not with normal use. Cobra skin is tanned and treated to keep the scales flat and bonded. The edges of each scale lie smooth against the surface. Excessive heat or harsh chemicals could dry them out, but regular wear and the occasional wipe with a damp cloth is all they need.

Q: Will the .925 silver concho tarnish?

Sterling silver oxidizes over time — that's normal. The concho will develop a dark patina, especially where it contacts your hand when opening the snap. Some riders prefer the aged look. A silver polishing cloth brings back the original shine in under a minute.

Q: Is the braided edge decorative or structural?

Both. The hand-braided leather wraps the raw edges where the three different skins meet, locking everything in place and preventing the panels from separating over time. It also gives the wallet a clean, finished border instead of exposed seams — so the braiding earns its place structurally while framing the cobra and stingray work at the same time.
